Granted I’ve owned them all in some fashion over the years so I can’t even keep track of how many times I’ve bought Duke Nukem 3D, but here we go.Īpparently Randy can’t do anything about it, as he’s pulled the Duke from everything else. I’ll have to dig more to see what is going on. Interestingly the main game is the same, but the additional levels are different. So there you go, not only can you sill buy it on Zoom Platform, it has MORE content, and yes it’s not $100+++ on the open market of keys, instead it’s for normal retail sale.įrom Steam: D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Duke Nukem 3D\gameroot\pĭ:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Duke Nukem 3D\gameroot\addons\dc\pĭ:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Duke Nukem 3D\gameroot\addons\nw\pĭ:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Duke Nukem 3D\gameroot\addons\vacation\pĭ:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Duke Nukem 3D\gameroot\classic\DUKE3D.GRPĪnd MD5’s: 22b6938fe767e5cc57d1fe13080cd522 pĨab2e7328db4153e4158c850de82d7c0 addons\dc\pġ250f83dcc3588293f0ce5c6fc701b43 addons\nw\pġc105ced73b776c172593764e9d0d93e addons\vacation\pĢ2b6938fe767e5cc57d1fe13080cd522 classic\DUKE3D.GRPĪnd Zoom Platform C:\ZOOM PLATFORM\3D Realms\Duke Nukem 3D - Atomic Edition\DUKE3D.GRPĬ:\ZOOM PLATFORM\3D Realms\Duke Nukem 3D - Atomic Edition\AddOns\DUKE!ZON.GRPĬ:\ZOOM PLATFORM\3D Realms\Duke Nukem 3D - Atomic Edition\AddOns\DUKEDC.GRPĬ:\ZOOM PLATFORM\3D Realms\Duke Nukem 3D - Atomic Edition\AddOns\NWINTER.GRPĬ:\ZOOM PLATFORM\3D Realms\Duke Nukem 3D - Atomic Edition\AddOns\PENTHOUS.GRPĬ:\ZOOM PLATFORM\3D Realms\Duke Nukem 3D - Atomic Edition\AddOns\VACATION.GRPĪnd MD5’s 22b6938fe767e5cc57d1fe13080cd522 DUKE3D.GRPĤcd0e3d3f170107b97aeafe4ade09ecf AddOns\DUKE!ZON.GRPĭdb7149855b0a0d0f073c3f5bedf7161 AddOns\DUKEDC.GRPġ250f83dcc3588293f0ce5c6fc701b43 AddOns\NWINTER.GRPĦa5a1505e38070ac0ab75eb60835988d AddOns\PENTHOUS.GRPĨ60367326139361078d0fc8cb623b548 AddOns\VACATION.GRP So the answer I guess is: it depends on where you want to draw the line but in general it's true that 3D Realms' heyday as a first party developer was during the DOS era.Megaton Edition Launcher Steam Megaton / AtomicĪnd launching from Steam, you can see it’s the ATOMIC edition. Prey 2006 was on Windows, and preceded the DNF layoff, but again it was outsourced, this time to Human Head Studios. Looks like the Megaton Edition of Duke Nukem 3D was on Windows but besides being after the DNF layoff era, looks like even that was farmed out to a developer called General Arcade Looks like they did the XBLA port though. Duke Nukem Forever was in the works for Windows for many years but 3DR stopped development and laid off all their employees before it could be finished, Gearbox goes on to finish it along with Triptych, which was a bunch of 3DR staff and I don't think exists anymore.ĭuke Nukem: Manhattan Project was on Windows but they farmed out that to another studio. When Gearbox bought DNF-and the Duke Begins game it was once developing, turns out-it agreed to pay off a 2.9 million loan 3D Realms owed to an unspecified software company. Like, if you consider 3D Realms the developer (as in, no other companies involved) the old Build engine games were DOS originally. It depends on what you mean by 3D Realms because they've farmed out a bunch of their development over the years. I thought you were being sarcastic but then it occurs to me that that's a tricky question actually.
